Kate Middleton

Kate Middleton might be preparing for having a baby, but her fans are prepping their credit cards in hopes of getting their hands on a pair of her favorite boots.
The Duchess of Cambridge, 31, is routinely spotted wearing a pair of Aquatalia's black Rhumba boots during her various public appearances, including an impromptu polo match in March. The "Kate effect" quickly took hold — and the entire production run sold out in days.
"When the Rhumba was first issued we had no idea it would be such a success, so the production was small," Rena Krasnow, fashion director at Aquatalia, told Fashionista.com.
That was before the duchess. Sales soared — and that's despite the Rhumba's $698 price tag.
It's easy to understand why Kate likes the boots: They're classically fashionable — thanks to their height and stretchy fabric — and durable enough to take Middleton from the polo field to high tea with the Queen.
Her practicality annoys high-fashion designers like Vivienne Westwood and Matthew Williamson, but Krasnow said Middleton's sensible approach to fashion is exactly why women love her.
"In my opinion, the most influential style icons today are women who buy their own clothes and wear what they like, not what they are told," Krasnow told the website, adding that Middleton has shopped with the brand — sans stylist — since 2011.
"Kate Middleton is the quintessential style icon, and her love for the brand comes from a very genuine place. It's an incredible compliment and endorsement."
You can get your hands on a pair now at Aquatalia's website, though you'd better hurry — the boots are sure to sell out when they hit stores later this month.
Molly Sims in Rock & RepublicJennifer Love Hewitt in Rock & Republic
The Fourth of July is probably one of our favorite holidays. After all, it combines all of our favorite things — like cocktails, food, friends and fireworks — into one summer day.
Our one problem? It's so hard to decide what to wear for such an occasion. We want to be both fashionable and patriotic — but those American flag T-shirts don't exactly scream fashion. Luckily, Rock & Republic for Kohl's is helping us out this year with the brand's Lolita Stars & Stripes Denim Shorts($58).
The stars-and-stripes shorts can be dressed up, as Molly Sims did with a black sheer top, gold accessories and wedges. Or they can be dressed down with a white button-up or casual jacket, as done by Jennifer Love Hewitt and Ashlee Simpson.
And if the temps make high fashion hard to handle? Keep it simple with a sheer cropped tank (Forever 21, $9) or a loose-fitting shirred tank ($13).
As for Hewitt, she likely won't be wearing her Rock & Republic shorts this Independence Day. The Client List star is pregnant with her first child with co-star (and new fiancé) Brian Hallisay.
"We're so thrilled and happy to start a family," they said after announcing Hewitt's pregnancy.
We can't wait to check out her maternity style!
Halle Berry at the Champs-Elysees Film Festival in Paris

Halle Berry

Bonjour, Halle Berry! The expectant actress stepped out for the Toiles Enchantees event at the Champs-Elysees Film Festival in Paris wearing this questionable LBD. We all know dressing for a red carpet event while pregnant can be a challenge, but we're not sure this Tramando dress works for Halle.
The bottom part of the dress is super short to cover her baby bump, so it definitely needs a layer over the top or a longer hemline if she were to just wear the first piece. But the contrasting neckline on the top sheer layer makes the whole look appear uneven.
And the uneven, jagged pieces on the bottom part of this dress make it seem like Halle's gown got mauled by a wild animal or stuck in an elevator door. We're just not a fan of the haphazardly hanging pieces of fabric.
The final verdict? We totally understand that the 46-year-old wanted something breezy and comfortable to wear, and black is a great, figure-flattering color to wear while pregnant, but this dress is just a mess. Props to Halle for still rocking high heels while preggers, though!

Carly Rae Jepsen at the amfAR Inspiration Gala

Carly Rae Jepsen

Call your stylist, maybe? Hit singerCarly Rae Jepsen attended the amfAR Inspiration Gala and apparently, she was inspired to look nearly naked for the charity event. Carly chose a Carlie Wong gown that features a short gold underlay with a sheer, embroidered layer over the top.
Perhaps the squeaky clean 27-year-old is trying to go for a more sexy, mature image, but this isn't the way to do it. The sheer layer looks like a tablecloth and the dress appears too long for her petite frame since it's dragging on the floor in front.
Plus, Carly's porcelain complexion looks paler than ever and washed out in this white dress. We think she should try something with some color, other than her bright red locks, of course.
The final verdict? Sorry, Carly, but tonight we're getting over this look on you. There's nothing wrong with going for a more adult style, but this particular one isn't working on you.
